Street Inspired Fashion

finding fashion inspiration on the streets is one of the best ways to get ideas for great outfits. you dont need to copy exactly what someone wore, but you can get ideas for what you like or dislike and you can create a new image or outfit for yourself.

so heres what im going to do. i spent some time on the internet, on blogs, and on facebook, and found outfit of the day pictures that i liked, and im going to recreate the outfit for you. i may not copy it exactly, it may vary from a skirt to pants, but you can see how i go about styling some of my outfits. and how i get new ideas for new outfits!!

so i found 5 pictures that i like and turned them into new outfits for you to then recreate your own!! see how the cycle works!?

its awesome!

Outfit 1. Street Elegance

make this look less dressy, ditch the tights and go for a black and burnt sienna color blocked dress. a cardigan instead of a jacket makes the look for day time appropriate. and switch out the heels for black ankle booties.

Outfit 2. Mixed Feelings

this look is funky and fun. i kept the same idea throughout this outfit, but added a couple extra accessories to dress the look up. the round sunglasses add that john lennon vibe. and the geometric pendant pairs nicely with the cardigan.

Outfit 3. Totally in-VEST-ed

ditch the jeans for a striped maxi skirt for that effortlessly cool look. pair with a loose fitting black tank and a denim vest for a cool girl vibe. black wedges, a tan scarf and hair bow add  a bit of girly glam to this rougher look.

Outfit 4. Shades of Neutral

so i dressed this casual look up with a statement necklace, and a shirt with a detailed collar. the gold also dresses up the casual linen trousers. but to make it a bit more day-time appropriate, i added a pair of cognac flat oxford flats instead of wedges or heels.

Outfit 5. modern vintage

Red-shirt

   Heels - It's a Dune Deal Heel

Belts - Posh Cycle Belt  Handbags - It’s a Pleasure Bag in Black

i love the idea of a vintage inspired outfit, mixed with modern geometric prints. its a modern take on a vintage look. i switched it up a bit by pair a red patterned skirt with a black and white patterned top. split up the two patterns with a black belt, to keep the look from getting overwhelmed.

i hope you enjoyed this post! i had a lot of fun doing it!!

it feels like summer

its been 80+ degrees in San Francisco! i've felt so blessed. but i've also felt the need for a slight wardrobe change since its been so warm. San Francisco is usually somewhat chilly and foggy in the morning and warms up during the day, so layers are a must. Here are three summer inspired outfits for the crazy weather changes!

Outfit 1. playing with print

Sleeveless Floral Denim Shirt $34

JENNIFER MEYER Gold Arrow Pendant Necklace 18k yellow gold faceted delicate ball chain necklace with arrow pendant. Spring ring clasp 19" length 38mm pendant drop

for this outfit, layer a floral sleeveless denim shirt over a pink and white striped top. pair this with a pair of ombre blue shorts and white low top converse for an edgy casual look. to dress it up a bit, layer a geometric statement necklace and a cool pendant to give your outfit extra flare.

Outfit 2. Purrfectly pastel

Studded Laser Cut Belt - StyleSays

i love this outfit because its so unexpected. i like the idea of a soft orange and lavender together, and the feline print adds a quirky vibe to your outfit. to continue the quirks go for a simple mock collar necklace for a fun accessory. wrap a belt around your waist and a neutral flat and your good to go.

Outfit 3. Floral and Feminine

i am loving the combination if a bright poppy red and mint green. before you say anything, done the right way it WONT look christmas-y. find a floral dress with a minimal print that is close in color range to these two trendy shades. then add accessories tastefully. the bright red statement necklace and shoe work because they're not to close to each other on your body, as well as the mint green belt to cinch in your waist and glasses.

I hope you enjoyed my getting ready for summer inspired looks. tell me what you think in the comments below!

April Favorites

It is time for my monthly favorites!

heres what i have been loving this April!

BEAUTY
1. maybelline duo liquid eyeliner

still a favorite. the eyeliner is super pigmented and does exactly what i want it too! a winged cat eye has never been so easy!

2. nyx blush in natural

i love myx blushes, they're such a great dupe for mac blushes at a fraction of the price. my favorite this month has been nyx's cream blush in natural. its that perfect shade for my skin!

3. herbal essences color me happy

i stopped using herbal essences because its not the greatest shampoo for your hair, but i recently dyed my hair a bit darker and wanted something to help keep it from getting bronzy and this stuff does the trick... it smells yummy too!

4. china glaze flip flop fantasy

no picture can do this color justice. its a bright neon coral pink color that makes me look tan!!! regardless its a super pretty spring/summer shade that is bright and happy.

5. urban decay shadow primer potion

i started using this eye shadow primer again, and i remembered how much i really love it! it keeps my shadows looking great all day!

6. maybelline cay eye mascara

this mascara goes great with any winged eyeliner because it helps to fan out the lashes on the outside of your eye. it makes them look long and thick! can't complain!

7. urban decay naked palette

i also rediscovered my naked I palette, after using the naked basics for a few months i forgot how many beautiful colors were in the first one.

8. trader joes coconut lotion

my hands have been really dry, so ive been using this every night before bed to help moisturize. my hands are soft and they feel great!

fashion

1. high low skirt

this skirt is so flattering and i love them because they're lower in the back so i dont have to be as concerned about showing things i dont want to show... if ya know what i mean.

2. button downs

chambray and button downs are my go to wardrobe piece when i have no idea what else to wear. they're a "woke up late kind of morning" lifesaver.

3. hoodies

i like to wear sweats and a hoodie when i get home. i love nothing more than being comfortable!

4. just fab flats

my gold flats with the black cap toe are super cute and go with soooo many outfits! its easy to just pop them on and go!

5. minnie pants

my poppy minnie pants from j crew (that i got on sale for 20$) are awesome and surpringly go with alot more than i thought they would!

6. blue star scarf

i've been loving my star scarf. its thin but has alot of material. so its basically a blanket. i keep it in my FIDM bag to stay warm because some of the classrooms are freezing!!

7. arm candy

i've been loving stacking my bracelets again. its finally warm enough to wear shorter sleeves to show off all my cute bracelets.

random favs

1. sabrina the teenage witch

i've been watching these 20 min episodes while i do my homework. it reminds me of my childhood. :)

2. macarons

macaroons are a quick yummy pick me up treat. its my reward after i get off work or had a long day at school.

3. roses

i've been loving my mom's roses, when its warm outside the backyard smells so good. its relaxing to sit outside for five minutes and literally smell the flowers.

4. trader joes gummy bears
