Outfit of the day!

its finals week and im exhausted, so i wanted to be comfortable but cute. so heres my outfit of the day!

i started off with a silk, cream colored t-shirt

over the shirt i layered an unbuttoned chambray shirt, it was a little chilly in the city, but not freezing so the thin layer kept my arms warm just enough.

then i wore my new favorite spring scarf for a pop of color to my neutral outfit.

for an extra layer in the chilly morning i wore my anorak vest.

for pants i wore blue polka dot jeans for a little bit of fun, polka dots always cheer me up, especially when im stressed out.

for accessories i wore brown ankle booties, my trusty rebecca minkoff mini mac, and pearl stud earrings. i kept it simple and casual today, but i still managed to look somewhat put together.

I ♥ Spring Tag

1. Favorite spring nail polish?

Sally Hansen's Pacific Blue

its a bright cobalt blue! its a gorgeous shade and its a change from all the pastel colors.

2. What is your must-have lip color this spring?

maybelline color whisper in pin-up peach! the perfect peachy pink shade!

3. Show us your favorite spring dress!

i love olive (haha - olive is an anagram for i love) green during the spring, its a pretty earth tone that can tone down some of the bright colors out there, plus a simple maxi dress is easily dressed up or down.

4. What's your favorite flower?

right now im loving peonies, i love the two tone colors of these flowers and how romantic and  happy they are.

5. Favorite spring scarf/accessory?

i got this neon pink and orange floral scarf the other day and i love it! it looks good with all my white summer tops and dresses. plus its light weight so i dont get too hot.

and definitely statement necklaces, i have to wear them to work as part of my uniform, (awesome right?) and so ive been collecting them recently. i love the bold colors and styles.

6. What spring trend(s) are you most excited about this year? (Makeup, fashion or both!)

definitely bold brows and bright lips

7. Favorite spring candle?

yankee candle's pink sands, smells soooo yummy. its like a floral beachy smell than im horrible at describing, but i can tell you it smells amazing!

8. Favorite body spray/perfume for spring?

this one is a given, ive mentioned it before, but i absolutely love this scent for spring and summer, its the perfect combination of fruity and floral!

9. What is spring like where you live?

well its San Francisco, so its usually foggy, but if we're lucky enough we get to see the sun and the afternoons are usually warm(ish)

10. What's your favorite thing about spring?

the fresh air! and the sun! i hate feeling cooped up during the winter because its cold and rainy ( and i hate cold and rainy) so when spring has sprung theres nothing more i love than being outdoors in the warm air.

11. Are you a spring cleaner?

i would like to say that i am, but mostly im too busy to keep cleaning.... ill tidy up every now and then.

12. Any plans for spring break or an upcoming vacation?

Spring Break Essentials

Spring break is coming up, and i thought i'd share my spring break essentials. what to pack for a mini vacation and some easy make-up tips and tricks so you can maximize your relaxation time and still look cute.

so lets get started

What to Pack!!

so im going on a five day trip to hot and sunny arizona, i want to pack light, but still have enough outfit options for during the day and for the evenings.

a maxi dress is a perfect thing to pack, you can get the maximum amount of use, its easily a beach coverup, a casual outfit for day time, or dressed up for a night out, you can essentially get three outfits (or more) with a maxi dress.

an oversized t-shirt can also be dressed up for down, but mostly i appreciate them for the comfort.

a light weight denim jacket is perfect for layering, its not a heavy layer and its easy enough to take off if it gets too warm.

olive colored skinny jeans are perfect for vacations, its different than normal blue jeans, but they're still neutral enough to go with most outfits.

leggings are also a must, they're comfy and can be dresses up or down, and in the not so rare case that i forgot my pajamas they are great for sleeping in as well.

a cute crochet top in a neutral color is also versatile. you can wear with over the maxi dress with a belt or with the olive colored skinny jeans.

a simple cardigan is always a good idea to pack as well, this helps change up an outfit, or is an extra layer in case it gets chilly.

pack a couple of your favorite tanks for quick wardrobe changes if needed.

a light summer scarf is always a good idea to have. it can help protect from the sun, or dress up an outfit.

sunglasses are  a must! they help protect your eyes from the bright sun. i never go anywhere without mine.

a big sunhat also helps to protect against the sun. a sunburned face is not a pretty face.

and of course you cant forget to pack a swim suit since you're probably spending at least a couple days at the beach.

Make-up Tips and Tricks.

i want to keep my make-up lowkey on vacation, i dont want to spend too much time fussing so heres what i bring.

a tinted moisturizer is great, not only does it moisturize, but its helps add a little coverage without that heavy feeling of foundation, plus it usually has spf in it, so you know your face is protected.

a tinted lip balm is very versatile, not only does it feel like chapstick but it helps add a little extra color to your lips. an added bonus? swipe a little on your cheeks and blend, and suddenly you've got pinched cheeks. no need to pack a blush now.

this little thing packs in a lot of use. i use this to highlight my cheekbones, under my brow bone, and it can work as a eyeshadow base to keep my shadows (if im wearing them) lasting all day long.

waterproof mascara is a good idea especially if your out in the hot sun all day. the oils on your skin break down your make-up throughout the day so a waterproof mascara helps prevent racoon eyes

so this palette serves many purposes, you can create multiple eye looks with these shadows that can help take your look from day to night, but you can also use them for more than just eye looks. use the yellow or the nude eyeshadows to conceal any dark undereye circles, use any color to fill in your brow, and use the black as eyeliner. this little palette packs a punch.

i discovered this little magical thing today, its an oil for both hair a skin. you can use this on your hair after a day at the beach to help add moisture, but also to your skin as well. its got avocado and shea oils in it which are beneficial for both.

sunscreen is important no matter what you're doing. dont forget it! sunburns are no fun and can totally ruin a vacation.

a body spray is always good, not only does it keep you smelling good, but its refreshing every now and then especially when you've been in the hot sun.

there are my spring break essentials, obviously its not everything, (dont forget your undies) but they're versatile pieces and easy make-up tricks for a fuss free vacation

have fun! <3

the luck o' the irish

its almost st. paddy's day, so in order to prevent getting pinched here are three green outfits!

Outfit 1. girly and feminine

Mint green lace dress

a mint green lace dress is a full proof way to incorporate green into your outfit. this color is the main focus so theres no excuse not to see green.

Grey Cardigan.pair a feminine grey cardigan over the sweater, this will keep the colors lowkey and romantic.

Gold Ballet Flatsa gold ballet flat works as another neutral, but also sticks to the st. patrick's theme.
lastly finish off with a pretty statement necklace.

Outfit 2. simple but chic

a printed chambray shirt makes a basic a little more fun for this outfit.

pair the printed chambray with a pair of green statement jeans.

zara ballet flat with rosegold metala rose gold ballet flat works as a pretty neutral.

finish off with a printed floral scarf. you're mixing patterns for a more fashion forward outfit. but the green on the scarf matches the green on the pants, and the chambray and ballet flats are pretty neutral.

Outfit 3. casual and comfy

so this last outfit is for those of us who want to still look cute but be comfy and casual at the same time. so go for a pair of your favorite denim shorts.

then pair a comfy green tank on top. this look is effortless but you'll still look put together.

finish off with a pair of green sandals.

i hope these ideas were helpful! and i hope you all have a wonderful pinch free st. paddy's day!

have fun! <3
