Arizona Inspiration

so i just got back from AZ, but while i was there i was inspired by all the beautiful scenery, and change of pace. we went to places like Sedona where there are beautiful hiking trails and gorgeous red cliffs and boulders. so i decided to put together a few outfits based on the things i saw while in Arizona!

Outfit 1. The Drive

so the drive wasn't the most exciting thing ever, but if you get a chance to look out the window there are some beautiful colors amongst the somewhat boring scenery.

chevrons are a popular take on stripes now. so find a chevron shirt in navy and white. since its warming up find a loose fitting shirt so you feel like you have room to breathe.

pair the striped chevron stop with olive colored skinny jeans. the navy and the olive will complement each other, giving you a laid back, but still put together vibe.

and orange silk scarf adds an interesting color to your outfit. the trick to playing with unfamiliar color combinations is to find three colors that have some similarity on the color wheel. the orange and blue are complementary while the green is right next to the blue.

for shoes, stick to a color in the same theme as the outfit. since the navy blue is in the top, its far enough away that it wont interfer with the blue on the shoes.

Outfit 2. Sedona

sedona is very tourist-y but the views are amazing and beautiful. the rocks are this brilliant red-orange that complement the blue sky beautifully.

a chambray skirt is the perfect piece for not only vacation, but for beautful sunny weather. it works as a neutral piece in your outfit so it will balance out the brightness of a bold top.

what i like about this red-orange collared dress is the versatility. tuck it into the skirt for a polished look. or let some of the hem of this dress show at the bottom of the chambray dress for a feminine flirty look. or this dress is great all on its own.

a masculine shoe adds variety and interest to an otherwise flirty outfit. the contrast is at a minimum if you keep the shoe to a neutral color.

layer a geometric gold statement necklace underneath the collar of the dress/blouse for an interesting contrast to the feminine silhouette of the outfit.

3. The sunset

The sunset is georgeous, every where i go i try to enjoy the sunset, because technically we're all seeing the same sun setting, it just seems to be different or more beautiful if we're in some place other than home.

a cream colored lace crop top is the perfect laid back look. its effortless and beautful.

a dark wash fitted high waisted skinny jean helps to cover more of you since your blouse is cropped. plus it gives it a vintage feel to your outfit.

a turquoise statement necklace adds to the laid back look, making it seem more put together without looking like you're trying to hard.

a quirky pair of sunglasses in a neutral color adds a relaxed vibe to your outfit.

gold sandals finish off the look and are neutral accessories for this outfit.

I hope you enjoyed, obviously everyone has their own opinion but these outfits were inspired by things i saw, enjoyed or loved.

much love <3
