Vintage Inspiration

There is nothing i love more than going thrift shopping, and finding quirky things. The best part is i know that next to no one probably has the same thing. But that means that if i put together an awesome outfit, you can really get the same thing. So I've decided to do something a little different. Im finding images of vintage fashion, and finding new looks to recreate the same idea. It wont be exact, more like a modern interpretation on an old trend.

so lets see if i can do it.

Outfit 1. The 1950's House Wife

this is is oh so June Cleaver, and the trend is actually coming back, but to modern it up, find a similiar silhouette, but a dress with modern color blocking.

Dresses - Staying in Step Dress

This dress is great because it will visually slim down your shoulder area, so if you have broad shoulders like me, they will look smaller

Heels - Posh for the Finish Heel a cute oxford style heel, will keep that vintage look. but go for a fun trendy color, like coral.

wrap a belt around to cinch in your waist, a belt is a great accessory, not only is it practical but theres so many styles that you're to find one that matches your own.

Earrings - Bright Burst Earringsa quirky earring will help to complete your look, but wont overwhelm the rest of the outfit. the trick is to keep things cute and simple.

Outfit 2. Crinolines and Corsets

An overlooked time in fashion was the crinoline era, the era of the big caged skirt. It helped redesign how women wore big skirts.

so obviously were not going to be wearing crinolines but hear me out.

a soft and femine corset type bodice dress will draw its influence from the crinoline era. The skirt has enough body to eminate the fullness of a crinoline.

polka dots add to the feminity of the dress, but the sweater helps to keep the outfit more modest.

Belts - Cinch You've Been Gone Belta quirky belt adds personality while giving your some shape.

Boots & Booties - Tread and Done Boot

a brown combat boot with lace socks adds edge and feminity to your outfit. Its a juxtaposition if you will.

Outfit 3. 90's Grunge

it doesn't look great now, but lets wait and see.

pleather leggings are great, they're totally on trend now, but give a punky vibe to your outfit.

layer a white sleeveless chiffon blouse over the pleater leggings, this one is great because the lace bodice adds a feminine feel.

layer an un buttoned flannel over the chiffon blouse, roll up the sleeves so you can rock some cute bracelets.

layering bracelets is going to be a huge trend for this spring again.

finish off the look with a pair of suede wedges. it gives an effortlessly cool look.

i hope you enjoyed, let me know which look you would wear in the comments below.

Much love <3
