make-up as an accessory?

sometimes we feel the need to over accessorize and put on way too much, and that rule of thumb that taking off the last thing you out on will help tone down your outfit doesn't always work... sometimes its still too much.

what we dont think of sometimes, is that our make-up can be an awesome way to accessorize an outfit, making a bold statement while not going overboard.

Outfit 1. lavender and peach

this is possibly my favorite combination. i know that purple and yellow are typically complementary colors, but yellow lipstick doesn't seem that flattering.

a peachy coral color lipstick and nail polish with a lavender blouse

these two hues are soft and feminine. you don't need to over do the outfit. so stick to a lighter wash skinny jean and tan flats.

this outfit is simple, but the two pops of color make it work. the lavender blouse is feminine, but the pop of peach on the lips and the nails tie the whole look together.

Outfit 2. Raspberry and Royal Blue

this pretty berry color is flattering on most skin tones... just change the light or darkness of the shade depending on what you prefer.

but what really makes this color stand out is a kate middleton royal blue.

this dress is light and airy, which helps to soften the bold colors.
for a casual look pair this dress with a denim jacket.

add some simple brown flats, and gold earrings.

keep the shoes and earrings simple, the berry color can be quite a statement so keep the other accessories at a minimum.

Outfit 3. Pink and Navy

a pretty pink looks great with a deep navy. while the navy is a dark color the pink helps to add interest while complementing the color at the same time.

wear a pretty lace top with a navy cardigan, its neutral enough so the pink lipstick and nailpolish doesn't look overwhelming.

tuck the blouse into the shorts and wrap a brown belt around for a more polished look. go for a pair of shorts with a longer inseam for a more flattering feminine look.

finish off the look with a cute pair of sandals

the neutral sandals look great while keeping the outfit at a minimum so the pretty pink can shine through, if you're feeling extra daring, paint your toes pink too!!

its great to keep an outfit simple and accessorize with our make-up, its a fun way to change up our look, without going over the top.

have fun! <3
