Make-up is not just for covering up blemishes, nor is it about piling on as much as you can. Make-up is actually a huge part of fashion and can make or break and outfit.
think of make-up as an accessory, and you know what they say about accessories?
always take off the last thing you put on.
so here are some of my favorite make-up trends that by no means should be worn all together, and should be treated as an accessory to your outfit as well.
1.
cat eyes
my favorite products
Mac's carbon eyeshadow, and Mica's gel eyeliner in black,
line your eyes with the eyeliner, then take the black eye shadow and sweep it in a v motion on the outer v shape of your eye, use a matte crème shade on the entire lid so its not too harsh
if black is too much for your look, then use a brown eyeliner and shadow instead.

give this edgy make-up look a bit of prep so its not overwhelmingly gothic. a light brown sweater layered over a Bordeaux colored blouse adds the autumnal colors to your outfit, but the look is pretty preppy. black skinnies match your eyes but a cognac pair of flats add more neutral into the mix, finish off with your favorite statement necklace.
2.
wine lips
my favorite products
Revlon's lip butter in red velvet, and Rimmel's Bordeaux lipstick.
this look is so pretty for fall, and its an edgy change from the red traditional lip.
for a bold wine lip go with a darker red with more purple in it, to make it matte, add a bit of a matte or translucent face powder on top. for a more subtle lip try a tinted lip balm which adds the color without being deeply saturated.

earth tones really complement this bold lip. the natural hues balance out the deeply saturated color by creating a fresh and clean palette. an olive green blouse is a good shade to start with since green and red are complementary colors. pair with a taupe colored pair of skinnies and brown booties. this look is laid back, but too add a bit more glam (since you're already bad-ass enough to wear Bordeaux lips) pair a gold statement necklace to finish off the look.
3.
navy nails
my favorite products
Essie's Bobbling for Baubles, and OPI's Russian Navy
Essie's changed their formulas so there are no more masty chemicals in them! thank god! because im loving this shade from their collection. its a non shimmery shade that looks so chic for fall, OPI's Russian Navy is also a good option for those who like a bit of sparkle in their mani, one quick tip for this shade of blue? keep your nails short, dark colors tend too look less overwhelming on shorter nails.

a little matchy matchy looks ok with a mani, a navy maxi skirt doesn't look like you're trying to hard though. pair with a white tank and a cream coccon cardigan for an easy going comfy look. a cool pendant necklace adds a bit of detail but you definitely wont look over accessorized, and since its cooling down, ankle booties will look cute but keep your toes warm too!!
There are my top three favorite make-up looks!
I hope you have a favorite too and decide to try it out!
Much Love
